The inspirational posts on this blog are written by our founder Ron Tyson. In March of 2016 we started Bring Smiles to Seniors in honor of Ron’s grandmother who was in a nursing home and had dementia. We collect donations and cards to work with schools, civic organizations and employers to fill out and decorate. These are then delivered to seniors in nursing homes, assisted & independent living facilities, homebound and those participating in elderly nutrition programs. Our goal is to address the many seniors who are alone and forgotten, but we also touch those that are lucky enough to still have family involved. In addition, we work to connect the circle of life – children to seniors – to help them understand the importance of remembering those that paved the way for us. In 2018 we provided over 40,000 cards to senior communities in all 50 states, as well as those at home or participating in elderly nutrition programs.
